Rio Grande Valley

Christmas Trip a Success!

Thanks to all the churches and individuals who contributed to the collection of stockings and stuffers. We took to the valley 205 boy stockings, 222 girl stockings, 35 baby stockings, and 48 teenage stockings for a total of 510 stockings. There were 290 stockings donated that we did not have stuffers for. These stockings will be set aside for the 2012 mission trip.

Six churches sent “missionaries” on the trip. They were Templo La Porte, Nueva Vida Baytown, Wooster Baytown, First Highlands, and Pilgrim Rest from Many, Louisiana. We had a total of 44 people doing missionary work.

On Saturday everyone helped with a block party at the colonia site. Due to rainy weather, we could not have the block party in the colonia. The event took place in the gym of Iglesia Manantial de Vida in Mission, Texas. There was a good turnout. We gave away a total of 340 stockings and 130 boxes of food.

Sunday morning the group divided and went to churches in Peñitas, San Carlos, and Mission Texas. Each group took responsibility for the worship service, provided hot dogs and drinks, and gave away Christmas stockings and family food boxes. We had 9 professions of faith Sunday morning in Iglesia Manantial de Vida.

We give all glory to God for this great event. We thank all who in one or more ways contribute to this great cause. God will reward each one in a very special way.

Merry Christmas
