Contribution limits. Will you be ready for tomorrow? The 2012 contribution limits have increased, so you can contribute up to $17,000 into your 403(b) or 401(k) account. If you're age 50 or over, you can contribute up to $22,500 per year. So be sure to review your retirement contributions to ensure you're doing the most you can to prepare for the future.

IRAs for your spouse. If your spouse doesn't have access to a retirement plan, an IRA may be able to help. Your spouse can contribute up to $5,000 into an IRA - and if he or she is 50 or older, that may increase to up to $6,000. Also, to potentially help lighten your upcoming tax bill, any contributions you make until April 17, 2012 can still count for 2011.
